Thompson Valley Potters’ Guild is a non-profit community arts group dedicated to fostering excellence in pottery in the Kamloops area of BC.
We celebrate the unique works of local artisans, promoting craftsmanship in the exploration of functional and sculptural clay works.
Thompson Valley Potters’ Guild was created in October 1969 with only seven members. For many years the group met in each other’s homes, sharing techniques, talking about how to improve the standards of ceramics, and working to raise awareness of ceramics in the Kamloops area.
Currently there are 33 members who meet monthly to talk about many aspects of pottery. Members use a variety of clay – stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware to produce functional and one-of-a-kind pieces. We also use many different firing techniques – electric, gas, raku, and pitfire.
