Functional high fired stoneware and some low-fire sculptural tiles and raku | | | |  | Jeanne’s interest in clay started in her childhood days when she would climb the hills near her home to chip off chunks of clay to carve. As a teen, she played with soft clay, coiling and doing slab work, as a young mother she took her first lesson on the potter’s wheel. Over the past 20 years, she has improved her knowledge and skills by attending numerous workshops, and joining professional guilds and associations. In the year 2000, she followed her heart and started Meadow Creek Pottery and enjoys potting full time and the life of a studio potter. | | | The majority of her work is functional, high-fired stoneware. Each piece is carefully crafted for use and enjoyment, as well as strength and durability. In her functional work, she uses slip, underglaze and on-glaze brushwork, and a variety of semi-matt and transparent glazes. With proper care, the beauty and function of her hand-crafted pottery can be enjoyed for many years. | | |
